If you, or your child or student are having difficulties with literacy or numeracy, or both, you may be interested in a Psychological Assessment to see if there is an underlying learning difficulty, or a Specialised Educational Review that assesses an individual's skill level at a point in time and provides strategies that can be implemented by school, parents and tutors to support their learning.
NOTE If you or your child has not had targeted literacy and/or numeracy intervention a Psychologist is not able to provide a diagnosis. This is where a Specialised Educational Review may be more suitable as it would provide you with a report about their level of achievement, and which strategies a school or tutor should use. After 6 months of targeted intervention a Psychological Assessment could then be conducted.
